MVA Now Issuing New Design Licenses

June 22nd, 2016 by WCBC Radio

Maryland's Motor Vehicle Administration this week began issuing its first redesigned licenses. The agency said in a news release that the new licenses and ID cards will be issued for all learner’s permits and new ID cards, and for licenses/ID cards renewed via web, kiosk and U.S. mail. The MVA says the new cards include multiple layers of security to help prevent identity theft and fraud and will arrive in the mail within 7 to 10 business days. If a customer’s current license or ID is valid and not up for renewal, they don’t have to do anything until it’s time to renew. MVA Administrator Christine Nizer talked about the security upgrades, the local flair and what's different about how drivers will get their new licenses going forward….
