Myers Also Looking into School Board Audit

A day after Allegany County Commissioner Mike McKay expressed concern over a critical audit report from the state regarding the finances of the Allegany County Public School System- Delegate Leroy Myers tells WCBC News that his office is also looking into the matter. The state of Maryland’s Office of Legislative Audits released a report late last month finding several deficiencies with the local school system, including $4 million in losses on food service and an $888,000 loss involving bus driver contracts. The audit cited the school system for 19 “findings”. Superintendent David Cox and Finance Director Randy Bittinger told WCBC News that the findings are like recommendations and that there is no penalty attached. Delegate Myers says the delegation is aware of the report, but he would like to talk with local school officials before drawing any conclusions…

    Delegate Myers has a good idea. Time for the audit to be questioned you scrooges who don’t like it.
