Nationwide TV & Radio Campaign To Help Fight Drug Abuse

Maryland lawmakers, broadcasters and drug experts converged this week on Capitol Hill to announce a campaign to fight opioid abuse.  The nationwide campaign will use television and radio resources to help combat heroin and prescription drug abuse, encourage treatment and increase awareness of the growing crisis. The effort includes public service announcements, special reports and town hall meetings. The public service announcements will air on local TV and radio stations over the next 18 months.  U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont said that while the opioid problem has been declared a crisis, many people still aren’t aware of how serious a problem it has become…
