Maryland's spring turkey season opened Monday, and a Cumberland man was charged with hunting turkeys with the aid of bait off of Buckley Road in Oldtown.
73 year old Delmis Shaw could be fined up to $1500 if found guilty of using corn to hunt from a tree stand blind. That trial is scheduled for June 23rd in Allegany County District Court.
A Grantsville man was charged with hunting before the start of spring turkey season by DNR officers on routine patrol.
63-year old Irvin George Platter was charged by officers on the Saturday before the opening of the season. He could be fined as much as $3000 if found guilty in Garrett County District Court when the case comes up June 2nd.
