Nearly 30 arrested in latest warrant sweep

A recent Arrest Warrant Initiative was conducted by the Cumberland Police Department’s Safe Streets Program. The Operation Safe Streets Warrant Initiative began Monday, November 14, and concluded Friday, November 18.

 

Ther goal continues to be making our streets safer through the reduction of open arrest warrants. The Safe Streets Operation sought citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrants and Grand Jury Indictments.

 

This initiative resulted in the arrest of Twenty-nine (29) individuals on active arrest warrants, with a total of Thirty-one (31) arrest warrants being served

 

This was another successful operation conducted with Officers from the Cumberland City Police Department and Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department, together with the warrant fugitive officers, who combined their resources to reduce the number of active arrest warrants in Allegany County.
