New Alco May Benefit From Rocky Gap Gaming Revenue

The Cumberland Times News reports Rocky Gap Casino and Resort gaming revenue is up by more than 10 percent compared to last year and Allegany County continues to benefit from the additional funding, some of which will help furnish the new Allegany High School. "Rocky Gap has done really well, and we've gotten a lot of money as a result of this," said Allegany County finance officer Jason Bennett.  Rocky Gap Casino generated $3,833,588 from slot machines and table games in February, a $359,013 increase from the previous year, according to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Agency. The county receives 2.75 percent of the revenue, which amounted to $89,867.71 last month compared to $79,000.30 in February 2015.
