New Allegany High School on Track for 2017 Opening

Following the latest update on the effort to build a new Allegany High School – Superindent David Cox announced that the project is very much on track to meet the projected 2017 fall opening.  The update was presented to the Board of Education during Tuesday’s work session by Vince Montana, director of facilities for the school system. Montana reported that the demolition of the medical office building at the former Sacred Heart Hospital is complete, and interior  demolition of the hospital is nearly complete.  Cost of the demolition is less than the school system anticipated which may allow for an auditorium, stripped from the original plan for budget reasons, to become a reality.  School Board President Laurie Marchini:
