A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Restaurant in LaVale was held Friday with the Grand Opening set for this coming Monday. The restaurant is expected to provide 175 hourly jobs to Allegany County. Construction on the restaurant began last fall after Allegany County commissioners and the The Maryland State Highway Administration approved all necessary road permits for contractors to go ahead with the project. It’s the third major new business to open in LaVale in the past three months with a new Sheetz Store opening in early February and Buffalo Wild Wings in early April.
