New School Security Embraced by Students

By all accounts, the new and improved school security program in Allegany County is proving to popular with students and faculty.  Robert Farrell, coordinator of security, safety and risk management for the BOE, updated the board on work being done by three new rotating school security officers.  Farrell said the the drug awareness course known as DARE will be taught soon at the Mount Savage School and Westernport and Flintstone elementary schools. He said he has witnessed first-hand how the students have embraced the idea of having a law enforcement presence on campus.
