New Scooter Laws To Go Into Effect

Several new laws will go into effect next week in Maryland and impact those who ride scooters. Scooter and moped riders will be required to wear a helmet and protective eye wear or have a windscreen on the scooter as of October 1st. Greg Shipley with the Maryland State Police told WBAL Radio that the scooter must be insured and titled through the MVA. Additionally, a decal must be displayed on the back of the scooter or moped showing the proper documentation. Shipley says troopers and local police will be enforcing the new laws- and those choosing to ignore the new laws could be hit with some steep fines…
