After some delays as a result of a brutal winter, work on a new office for the Allegany County sheriff and his deputies is moving forward and could be complete in the fall. Sheriff Craig Robertson tells WCBC News that the work is utilizing both a private contractor and county employees, which makes the timetable subject to change. The new office will replace cramped quarters on Furnace Street. Robertson said he is excited about the project that should provide far superior working conditions than what is currently available.
