Newly Appointed Mineral Judge Won’t Preside Over Some Cases

Newly appointed Mineral County Circuit Court Judge Jay Courrier won't preside over any of the cases he handled during his time as county prosecutor. The original plan was to allow retired Judge Phil Jordan to stay on as senior judge to finish up the cases, but the West Virginia Supreme Court decided last week not to allow senior status judges to do that because of costs.
