NWS Extends Advisory For Extreme Western Allegany County Until Midnight

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT…

* WHAT…Mixed precipitation expected. The ice and snow will result in difficult travel conditions, including during the evening commute on Monday. Total wet snow accumulations of one to three inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are expected.

* WHERE…In Maryland, Extreme Western Allegany. In Virginia, Western Highland. In West Virginia, Western Grant, Western Mineral and Western Pendleton.

* WHEN…Until midnight EST tonight.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times. Even if air temperatures rise above freezing, the ground and other surfaces are still extremely cold due to the recent Arctic blast. This increases the likelihood of icing on surfaces. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.
