NWS Extends Garrett Flood Warning Until 3:45 PM

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
  Garrett County in western Maryland...
  Preston County in northeastern West Virginia...

* Until 345 PM EDT.

* At 1219 PM EDT, county officials continue to report flooding
  througout the county. Some of the areas include Rowlesburg in
  Preston county and Kitzmiller in Garrett county. While the rain
  has ended, streams and creeks will remain high through the
  afternoon.

  FLOODING...           Occurring.

  ESTIMATED RAINFALL... More than 3 inches.

  ADDITIONAL RAINFALL...None.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Kingwood...                       Mountain Lake Park...
  Oakland...                        Terra Alta...
  Rowlesburg...                     Bayard...
  Bittinger...                      Grantsville...
  Loch Lynn Heights...              Friendsville...
  Deer Park...                      Newburg...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown. Most flood fatalities occur in vehicles.

It is important to know where you are relative to streams and
rivers. Campers and hikers should avoid streams.
