NWS Issues Ice Storm Warning for Frostburg & Garrett County Areas

ICE STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EST TUESDAY…

* WHAT…Significant icing. Ice accumulations of around three

  tenths of an inch are possible through Tuesday morning.

* WHERE…Extreme Western Allegany and Mineral Counties and all of Garrett County.

* WHEN…Until 11 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the

  ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous

  conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Travel is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep an extra

flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an

emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.

    I know this notice says Strongly discourage people to travel which is a nice way to say Stay Home, as if you decide to risk your life you are putting First Resoonders at a higher risk. Stay home, enjoy your family, read a book and be thankful as Christmas is coming.
