Ocean City Refines Ordinance To Prohibit Topless Women

Ocean City has been in the headlines for the past week- but not because the summer tourist season is upon us- but because of a topless beach controversy. Ocean City's Town Council clearly prohibited women appearing topless on the beach during an emergency session last week.  The newly refined ordinance states “there is no constitutional right for an individual to appear in public nude or in a state of nudity."  With the matter now resolved, Mayor Richard Meehan hopes to return the focus to tourism. He says he the economy improving and gas prices relatively low, the summer season should be a strong one for Ocean City. He says the new post Labor Day start to the school year will also provide a boost…
