Oldtown Resident Arrested for Hit-and-Run, Impaired Driving, CDS Possession

On 10/26/2020 at approximately 8:00 PM the Cumberland City Police Department responded to the 500 block of Rizer Avenue for a hit and run which just occurred. Upon arrival officers learned a white Chevy truck had struck a mailbox and a fence then left the area. Officers checked the area and located the truck with obvious damage. Upon making contact with the operator Donald Leo Fishel the officer detected signs of impairment. A K-9 officer was requested to the scene and the K-9 alerted to the odor of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers located suspected heroin and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Fishel was arrested for CDS possession and driving while impaired. Mr. Fishel was taken before a District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance. Mr. Fishel was released on his personal recognizance pending trial in District Court.

Numerous traffic charges to include driving while impaired and leaving the scene of an accident;

Possession of CDS not marijuana, Possession of CDS paraphernalia
