O’Malley Hits CampaignTrail In Iowa

Governor Martin O'Malley is spending the weekend in Iowa. 

O'Malley is in Des Moines where tonight he is campaigning for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jack Hatch, and Saturday he'll be the keynote speaker that the Iowa Democratic Party's convention.

Iowa holds the first in the nation presidential caucus.

O'Malley is still considering whether to seek the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.

O'Malley has appeared at similar events in New Hampshire and California.

The second vice chairman of the Iowa Democratic Party, Chris Peterson, told the Des Moines Register that some delegates might be disappointed the party didn't attract a speaker with more of a rural background to appeal to Iowa Democrats.

However, one of the state's national committee members, Linda Langston told the same paper Iowans would be intrigued by O'Malley.

O'Malley, who is term-limited at Maryland's governor, leaves office in January.
