At Johns Hopkins Hospital this week, Governor O'Malley had an update on how many folks have signed up for the Affordable Care Act through Maryland's Health Connections web site. He also reported on how many Marylanders found employment and left welfare this past year. So far he says 42,589 Marylanders have signed-up in Maryland and will be covered under Affordable Care Act. He says by the end of March, the goal is to have 260,000 Marylanders signed-up. About 40% of all of those who have signed-up for coverage since October 1st, signed-up last week. While improvements are being made and the glitches addressed, the governor says that efforts to improve the program are continuing.
