On Wednesday, April 29th, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Springdale Street to check on the well being of male reported to be staggering the middle of the street. When officers arrived, contact was made with the male who was identified as Vernon Anderson III. Anderson became confrontational causing a disturbance in front officers as they tried to check on his welfare. He was warned by officers but he continued to create a disturbance. Anderson was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He was issued a criminal citation and released pending trial.
