On June 8, 2017, The Greater Cumberland Committee held a regional addiction symposium with more than 200 people in attendance. Fast forward to the present, where the committee is currently in the process of finalizing plans for the addiction symposium “One Year Later” event, sponsored in partnership with Allegany College of Maryland, Frostburg State University, M&T Bank and CBIZ/Smyth & Pyles. This tri-state conversation and call to action will be held, this Friday June 8, at Frostburg State University’s Lane Center from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Allegany County Sheriff Craig Robertson says while there have been some encouraging numbers showing recently, the problems are continuing to grow.
