Opening Of Dig Deep Brewery Delayed

August 2nd, 2018 by WCBC Radio

After yet another delay, Robert Dettinburn, owner of Dig Deep Brewery, tells WCBC News that the best case scenario at this time is for a late September opening in the Footer’s Dye Works Building. The proposed craft brewery has already missed several announced start up dates- but there seems to be some disagreement as to why. Michael Joy, the developer for the Footer project, said this week that the latest round of delays is due to Dig Deep officials working to obtain a liquor license. Dettinburn says the only license issue has developed because the location is not yet ready for the business to occupy. Currently he says they are waiting for an occupancy permit. He has submitted the application and paid the fee. While he says he wants to maintain a good relationship with the developer- it can be challenging because he has little direct contact with Joy…

On the license issue, Dettinburn said that they are all in order, saying that there there is no liquor license involved. He says he has acquired his federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade brewery permit and has met the state requirements as well.
