A total of 19 groups and organizations made their cases to the Cumberland Mayor and City Council last month, seeking dollars generated by the hotel/motel tax. On Tuesday, the allocations were announced. Several years ago the city council made the decision to earmark the revenue stream from hotel and motel stays to go towards tourism related ventures and nonprofit groups.
