18 fire companies were called to a house fire on Jacks Road near Orleans just before 2 PM Saturday. The firefighting effort was hampered by the presence of ammunition in the house, which was pretty much totaled. Units were on the scene for about four hours, and the fire spread to the nearby brush and woods. The fire marshal is investigating.
