PACE Reception Will Showcase 20 Displays in 2016

The 40th Annual Mountain Maryland PACE Legislative Reception is set for a week from today and once again will serve as a major showcase for Allegany and Garrett counties. According to one veteran lawmaker, the event, which in the past decade has expanded to include a follow up Friday morning Breakfast, began in 1976 under then governor Marvin Mandel- and was designed to help put western Maryland on the map and to send a message that the state doesn’t stop at Hagerstown.  Held at the Loews Annapolis Hotel, the reception this year will see more than 20 displayers and an expected crowd of more than 500. PACE co-chair Robert Smith tells WCBC News the goal each year is to let state lawmakers know about the key projects needed for the region…
