Pedestrian Struck On Winchester Road

On March 6, 2016 at approximately 8:25 PM deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to Winchester Road at the entrance to Applebee's restaurant in reference to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival deputies discovered a female had attempted to cross Winchester Road and was struck by a 1999 Toyota passenger vehicle traveling in the southbound lane. The vehicle was being driven by 51 year old Adam Kundratic of Cresaptown Maryland.

A crash reconstructionist from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded and processed evidence at the scene. Several subjects who witnessed the incident were interviewed on scene and statements were obtained. Members of the LaVale Rescue Squad treated the injured female and transported her to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center regarding life threatening injuries.

Assisting in the incident were LaVale Rescue Squad, Cresaptown Fire Department Ambulance, and LaVale Fire Department. Members of the Mt. Savage Fire Department also assisted with patient care.

The southbound lanes of Winchester Road were closed for approximately 1 1/2 hours due to the incident.
