Pennsylvania Governor Partially Vetoes Budget

December 30th, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The budget impasse in Pennsylvania continued on Tuesday morning, after Governor Tom Wolf partially vetoed the republican budget while directing emergency funding to schools.

The Herald Mail reports he vetoed the budget's $95 million cut to education, and will allow emergency funding to a half-year appropriation for schools, state corrections institutions and medical assistance capitation.

At a press conference in Harrisburg, the Governor stated that the veto stems from his disapproval of the more than $30 billion republican budget, which he believes is unbalanced.

In total, he is releasing more than $23.3 billion in funding.
