PetSmart may open in Lavale

May 21st, 2015 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Times News reports a PetSmart will be coming to Winchester Court, the shopping plaza under construction in LaVale, according to a job posting on the company’s website. The job posting is for an assistant store leader at 12317 Winchester Road between that highway’s two entrances to the Country Club Mall. PennTex Ventures LLC, the Greensburg, Pa., firm that is building the shopping plaza, purchased the 3.3-acre building site. PetSmart, Inc. is a retail chain operating in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico engaged in the sale of specialty pet supplies and services such as grooming and dog training, cat and dog boarding facilities, and daycare. The land was purchased Dec. 2 under the name PTV Capital Partners LaVale LLC, Greensburg, for $700,000 from Maple Mountain Industries Inc. Maple Mountain had bought the land in 2000 from Janet Nolan for $850,00. Earlier this year, PennTex spokesman Ted Donald told the Times-News that the retail space was 98 percent committed and that opening of the shopping complex will be sometime during the summer of 2015. The PennTex website says the company specializes in commercial real estate development and construction and focuses upon developing traditional single-tenant retail, financial and convenience properties.
