Today, May 14, 2018 at approximately 7:10am, a work release inmate from the Allegany County Detention Center, walked away from his work site.
The subject identified as James Richard Lease, 32, with an address of Barton, was last seen headed towards Cumberland from the Allegany County Fairgrounds. He was last seen wearing green pants, green shirt, green sweatshirt and work boots.
Mr. Lease was assigned to the supervised minimum security work detail and was serving a local sentence. A K9 search was conducted of the area with negative results.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing to conduct the investigation.
