Piedmont Man Arrested, Facing Theft Charges

A Piedmont man was arrested Thursday when he was found trespassing in an unoccupied apartment in the 500 block of Richmond Street, according to the Keyser Police Department. The Cumberland Times News reports police responded to the location just after 8 a.m. at the request of the Keyser Housing Authority.

Percy Adolphus Redman II, 53, was arrested in the area a short time after he ran from officers. The arrest was made without incident.

Redman was charged with obstructing an officer, trespassing, fleeing on foot and possession of marijuana. He was also charged as a fugitive from justice stemming from an arrest warrant from Winchester, Virginia,  for violation of probation in a felony theft case and an arrest warrant from Moorefield on a felony theft charges, police said.  

Following the arrest, Redman was taken to the Mineral County Magistrate's Office for a bond hearing.

The incident was handled by Keyser Police with the assistance of the Mineral County Sheriff's Office.
