October 14th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

On Thursday October 13, 2016, at 3:04 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private residence in the 100 block of South Street for a suspicious complaint.  Upon officer’s arrival, Anthony Palmisano, age 29, of Cumberland was observed acting in a suspicious manner around the shrubbery of the front lawn.  Upon seeing the officers, he fled the area and was found hiding in a shed in the rear of the residence.  It was learned that Palmisano was not welcomed onto the property.  He was arrested and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.   A wanted check was conducted and Palmisano was found to have two active warrants and a criminal summons on file.  The first warrant was issued as a result of Palmisano failing to appear for trial on October 11, 2016 for a previous Theft arrest that occurred at a business on National Highway in Lavale, Maryland.  The second warrant was issued as a result of an October 9, 2016 Theft incident that occurred at a business in the 400 block of Maryland Avenue where Palmisano was caught on surveillance cameras taking a quantity of store owned items and exiting the premises without paying for them. The criminal summons issued/served was as a result of an October 8, 2016, Theft investigation that occurred at a business in the 400 block of Maryland Avenue where Palmisano was caught on surveillance cameras taking stored owned items and leaving the premises without paying for them.  Palmisano was charged for Burglary 4th Degree and Disturbing the Peace for the South Street incident.  He was released on a $5,000.00 dollar unsecured bond.
