The Cumberland Police Department is currently on the scene in 1000 block of Frederick Street investigating a home invasion which took place early this morning at approximately 4:30 a.m. An unknown suspect believed to be a black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, bandana covering face and gloves. The suspect entered the residence through an unlocked side door. The suspect displayed a knife and demanded valuables. The suspect stole jewelry, prescription medication, approximately $400.00 in cash, television and a 2010 Nissan Sentra. The vehicle is silver in color and displays Maryland registration, 03267HT.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees this vehicle is asked to contact the nearest police department. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Cumberland Police department at 301-777-1600. Detectives from C3I and the Cumberland Police Department are still actively investigating at this time.
