Allegany County 911 dispatched police, fire and EMS units to Interstate 68 Saturday evening. According to 911, a vehicle rolled on westbound 68 at the 57 mile marker and burst into flames. The driver is said to have gotten out of the vehicle, and fire units arrived on the scene to tend to the fire. The investigation is continuing.
Troopers from the McHenry Barrack of Maryland State Police are investigating the theft of a compound bow and an air compressor from a residence in the 300 block of Fearer Road near Friendsville. The theft occurred either Friday or Saturday, and if you have information, you're asked to call Trooper Ervin at 301-387-1101.
Fire companies and EMS were sent to Samson Road Road in Somerset County to assist at the scene of a motor vehicle collision with entrapment at around 9:30 Saturday night. Companies from Somerset and Garrett Counties were dispatched. There is no word on the severity of injuries or how many vehicles were involved.
