Police Investigate Two Breaking And Enterings

Officers responded to the Flea Market located at 1 Bennett Lane for a reported breaking and entering that occurred there the previous night.  Upon their arrival they contacted the victim who advised that someone overnight had broken into the flea market area that she owns.  During the time that the suspects were inside they destroyed some property along with stealing some items from the flea market.  The scene was processed by CPD crime scene techs where evidence was collected.  If anyone has any information concerning this crime please call CPD at 301-777-1600. 

 

Officers responded to a business on Henderson Ave. for a report of a Breaking and entering.  Upon their arrival they contacted the victim who advised them that someone had entered their business and stole several items.  Video surveillance was checked and a possible suspect was identified as Joshua James Connell.  Officers responded to the residence of the suspect and were able to locate him as he was walking out carrying a bag of items.  Connell was stopped and several items that had been stolen were located on his person.  He was then placed under arrest and transported to PH.  At PH the bag that he was carrying was searched and several other items that had been reported stolen were located.  A consent to search his residence was signed by Connell.  During the search of his apartment several other items that had been stolen were located.  With all the items located during the searches officers were able to link Connell to 4 other breaking and entering.  Connell was interviewed and admitted to the breaking and enterings.

Charges: 3 cts Burglary 2nd degree, 2 cts Theft $1000-$10000, 3 cts Burglary 4th degree, Theft under $1000

Connell was taken for a Bond Hearing and held in the ACDC on a $40,000 Bond.
