Police keeping busy

On Friday, the Cumberland Police Dept served an arrest warrant on 30 year old Christopher Platter of Cumberland. The warrant stems from an investigation initiated on May 7th 2015 when Officers responded to the area of Greene St in reference to an assault. Investigation revealed that the victim was at a stop light when Platter allegedly opened his door and assaulted him. The victim did not require medical attention. The Officer applied for charges through the District Court resulting in the warrant being issued. Platter was taken into custody without incident and served with the warrant charging him with one count of second degree assault. Platter was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held on a $35,000 bail.

 

 

 

Also Friday,  Police  served an arrest warrant on 34 year old Timothy Hairston of Cumberland. The warrant stems from an investigation initiated on May 19th 2015 when Officers responded to the 200blk of Pennsylvania Ave for a report of a breaking and Entering complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that person(s) unknown had entered the residence and removed several items of value. Further investigation and through security camera footage, led to the warrant being issued on Hairston. Hairston was taken into custody without incident and served with the warrant charging him with First Degree Burglary, Fourth Degree Burglary, and Theft $1,000 to under $10,000. Hairston was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was held on an $8,500 bail.

 

 

 

Friday morning,  at 10:16am Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence located in the 300blk of Baltimore Ave in reference to a vandalism complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the complainant who advised that two houses were spray painted overnight with several words. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time.
