Police Log – 01-12-16

On 01/11/16 Officers served an arrest warrant on Cedrick Craig.  The warrant stemmed from a Burglary and Destruction of Property that took place on Maryland Avenue in August of 2010.  In August of 2010 a victim reported to Police that unknown subjects entered their locked residence and stole several electronic items.  Officers investigated the incident and developed several suspects.  Two suspects were juveniles at the time and one adult, Cedrick Craig.  During the investigation some of the property was recovered.  At the conclusion of the investigation charges were filed on Cedrick Craig.  On 01/11/16 Craig was located, placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department for processing He was then transported to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office and was later released on his personal recognizance.

Charges: Burglary: First Degree, Burglary: Fourth Degree, Theft: $1,000 – $10,000, Obstructing and Hindering, False Statement to an Officer, Malicious destruction of Property and Contributing to Conditions of a child.

 

Disorderly Conduct/Disturbing the Peace Arrest –

On 01/11/16 Officers responded to Columbia Avenue for a reported disturbance.  Upon their arrival they could hear a female yelling at a male to stay away from her residence.  Officers spoke to the female who stated a male she had never seen before was pounding on her door and yelling.  She stated she and the other occupants of the residence were asleep at the time and were awaken by the subject yelling.  She answered the door and the subject kept saying his child was inside the residence.  She advised the subject he had the wrong address but he continued to yell at her.  She was able to point out the subject who was standing near her residence.  Officers then contacted the subject, identified as Nicky Linn.  Linn admitted to causing the disturbance and stated he was at the wrong residence.  He was then placed under arrest and transported to the Police Department.  He was issued a Criminal Citation and was released pending trial at Allegany County District Court.
