City Police Charge Pair In Separate Incidents

SUMMONS SERVICE

On Wednesday January 7, 2015, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on Stanley Brown, age 51 of Cumberland, Maryland.  On December 23, 2014, officers responded to the 400 block of Chestnut Street in reference to a tampering with motor vehicle complaint. Investigation into this matter revealed that Brown was observed attempting to pry open the driver’s side door of a parked vehicle.  When noticed by a witness, Brown fled the area.  Brown was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

Stanley Brown, age 51.  Cumberland, Maryland.

CHARGES:  Rogue and Vagabond, Tampering with a motor vehicle.  Manipulate a vehicle device with malicious intent.

 

 

SUMMONS SERVICE

On Wednesday January 7, 2015, Cumberland City Police served a criminal summons on James Welsh, age 36 of Cumberland.  Charges in this matter were filed as a result of a January 2, 2015 Theft investigation that occurred at a business on Virginia Avenue.  Investigation into this matter revealed that Welsh was observed by store employees taking a quantity of store owned items and left the business without paying for them.  Welsh was served and released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGE:  Theft Less than $100.00.
