On Sunday January 31, 2016, at 12:55 am, a Cumberland City Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving the wrong way on Frederick Street.  Upon contacting the driver, officers developed a probable cause search for CDS.  As officers directed the occupants out of the vehicle, Shaolin Murray, age 18 of Cumberland, was a passenger exited the vehicle and fled.  A foot chase ensued as officers gave Murray repeated commands to stop.  Murray was apprehended and placed in custody.  He was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed, served and criminally cited.  He was released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGE:  Fail to Obey, Disorderly Conduct.

CDS ARREST

On Sunday January 31, 2016, at 7:55 pm, a Cumberland City Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation.  Contact was made with Grover White age 37 of Romney, West Virginia.  A check for wanted was conducted and it was revealed that White had an active warrant for failing to appear for trial for a previous CDS arrest.  White was placed in custody and a search incident to arrest was conducted.  In the center console of the vehicle were two individually wrapped baggies of suspected Heroin.  White was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed and served.  He was taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and was held on a $10,000.00 bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.

CHARGES:  Driving on Suspended License, Bench Warrant Fail to Appear, Possession of Heroin.
