Two arrested for CSX trespassing

Trespassing Arrest –

On 02/09/16 A Cumberland Police Officer was on routine patrol in the area of Queen City Drive when he observed a male and a female crossing the CSX railroad tracks.  Both subjects were crossing the tracks near the “No trespassing” signs.  The Officer stopped the subjects and identified them as Michael Caswell and Amber James.  Both subjects were placed under arrest for trespassing and were transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  Both subjects were issued a criminal citation for trespassing and were released pending trial in Allegany County District Court.

 

** The public is reminded that all CSX property is posted as No Trespassing.  All subjects caught trespassing on CSX property would be subject to a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.**

Burglary Warrant Arrest –

On 02/9/16 Officers located and arrested a subject wanted for Burglary and Theft charges.  Officers located the subject, Logan Blank, inside a Yale Street residence.  The warrant stemmed from an incident in early February.  Blank allegedly entered a Cumberland residence and removed jewelry and a handgun.  Blank then allegedly pawned these items at a local business.  The incident was reported and Officers recovered many of the stolen items.  The Officers investigated the incident and the investigation revealed Blank was allegedly responsible.  Blank was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Department.  He was served with the arrest warrant and was held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $3,000 bail.

Charges: Burglary: First Degree, Burglary: Third Degree, Burglary: Fourth Degree-Dwelling and Theft: $1,000 to under $10,000
