Theft and Forgery arrests in city

THEFT

On Monday March 23, 2015, at 1:07 pm, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private business on Park Street for a reported Theft.  Investigation into this matter revealed that April Lantz, age 39 of Cumberland, was observed taking stored owned items and attempted to leave the store without paying for them.  Lantz was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where she was processed, served and criminally cited.  She was released pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGE:  Theft Less than $100.00 dollars.

 

 

WARRANT SERVICE

On Monday March 23, 2015, Cumberland City Police served an arrest warrant on Stephen Hoppe, age 37 of Cumberland.  The issued warrant was applied for by a commercial business in Cumberland who alleged that on September 11, 2014, Hoppe, forged, passed and received funds on a personal check that was later found to be fraudulent.  Hoppe was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioner’s Office for a bond hearing and was released on his personal recognizance pending trial at the Allegany County District Court.

CHARGES:  Issue False Document, Forgery, Theft $1,000.00 to under $10,000.00.
