Domestic Assault

On Thursday, April 17, 2014 at approximately 7:20 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in reference to a domestic assault complaint.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the male victim and officers were able to observe minor injuries to his neck and arms consisting of scratches.  The victim advised that he was assaulted by his girlfriend, Kelsey Jenkins.  The victim stated that Jenkins also bit him on his arm as he attempted to leave the residence.

While officers were trying to speak with the victim Jenkins continued to yell and scream at him.  Officers advised her several times to calm down but she would not comply.  Jenkins was then placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Jenkins was later taken to District Court for her initial appearance and she was released on her personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Arrested:

Kelsey Dawn Jenkins – age 19 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Second degree assault.

 

CDS Arrest

On Thursday, April 17, 2014 at approximately 8:32 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department arrested Angelo Bernard Carlton Jr for possession of marijuana and crack cocaine.  A Cumberland Police Officer on patrol in the area of Columbia Street observed Carlton while he was engaged in a drug deal.  The officer then contacted Carlton based on his observations and Carlton tried to flee by running away but he was caught by a backup officer.  Carlton was placed under arrest and searched.  During the search of Carlton the marijuana and crack cocaine was located.  Carlton was then transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Carlton was taken to District Court for his initial appearance and held on $3,000.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center.

Arrested:

Angelo Bernard Carlton Jr – age 25 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Possession of crack cocaine, possession of marijuana, obstructing and hindering, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
