On Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 200 block of  Wempe Drive in reference to a request for officer.  Police dispatch advised that an argument was taking place at this residence and one of the subjects involved in the argument currently has a warrant out for his arrest.  Dispatch confirmed that the suspect, Michael Adrian Munday was currently wanted on an arrest warrant.  Upon the officers arrival one of the complainants flagged down the officer and advised him that the “wanted” subject, Michael Adrian Munday was fleeing from the back of the residence.  The officer immediately responded to the rear of the residence and located Munday.  The officer gave commands ordering Munday to turn around and place his behind his back and that he was under arrest.  Munday refused to listen to the commands even as the officer moved closer.  Munday assaulted the officer by spitting on him.  The officer grabbed Munday by the arm in an attempt to place him under arrest, Munday pulled away and began shoving and pushing the officer away.  Munday continued to resist and struggle with the officer for a short time until the officer was able to gain control and place Munday under arrest.  A search of Munday’s person revealed two pills in a plastic baggie, and several hypodermic needles.

Munday was transported to police headquarters for processing and was later taken to District Court for his initial appearance and held on $5,000.00 at the Allegany County Detention Center.
