May 22nd, 2015 by WCBC Radio

On Thursday officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to Sheetz convenience store on Virginia Avenue for a reported domestic assault.  Once officers arrived on scene they made contact with a female victim.  Officers were advised by the victim that she and her husband, Jacob Lee Haines were traveling down Virginia Avenue in their vehicle.  As they were arguing the victim told officers that she wanted to exit the vehicle.  As the victim was attempting to exit the vehicle Mr. Haines struck her in the face.  The victim was able to exit the vehicle and run toward Sheetz with her daughter.   Officers on the scene observed the victim to have minor injuries that were consistent with her being struck in the face.   As a result of this incident, Mr. Haines was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Mr. Haines was processed, served and taken before the District Court Commissioner.  Mr. Haines was released on his own personal recognizance.
