Police Log – 05/06/14

On Monday, May 05, 2014 at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business located in the 400 block of Maryland Avenue in reference to a male subject inside the business creating a disturbance.  Upon the officer’s arrival contact was made with a store employee who stated that the male subject became angry for no apparent reason and began yelling and screaming.  Officer’s contacted this subject who was identified as Robert Jay Toey.  Toey was told to leave the business and he refused.  Toey refused and continued to create a disturbance by yelling and screaming.  Toey was then placed under arrest and transported to police Headquarters for processing.  Toey was taken to District Court for his initial appearance and was released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Commissioner.

Arrested:

Robert Jay Toey – age 51 – Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Disturbing the peace, failure to obey a lawful order, and disorderly conduct.

 

Shoplifting Arrest_______________________Monday, May 05, 2014

 

On Monday, May 05, 2014 at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business located in the 700 block of Park Street in reference to a shoplifting complaint.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with store employees who stated that they observed a female subject stealing consumable items.  The suspect, Karianne Dominque Jackson was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters.  Jackson was processed and released after being issued a criminal citation charging her with theft.

Karianne Dominque Jackson – age 18 – Silver Spring, MD

Charges:

Theft

 

Destruction of Property / Disorderly Conduct______Tuesday, May 06, 2014

 

On Tuesday, May 06, 2014 at approximately 12:39 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence located in the 900 block of Glenwood Street in reference to a subject damaging a parked vehicle by kicking it.  The witness was able to give the officer a description of the suspect.  While officers were checking the area the suspect was located in the parking lot of McDonald’s on Queen City Drive.  As officer’s approached the suspect he began yelling and screaming.  The subject was identified as Jordan Earl Turner.  Turner was instructing to lower his voice but he continued to argue and scream.  The witness from Glenwood Street was brought to the scene and positively identified Turner as the subject who damaged his car.  Turner was placed under arrest and transported to police Headquarters for processing.  Turner was then taken to District court for his initial appearance and was released on his personal recognizance by a District Court Comissioner.

Charges:

Disturbing the peace, two counts of disorderly conduct, and destruction of property.
