ASSAULT
On Tuesday May 20, 2014, at 5:50 am, Cumberland City Police Officers responded to a private residence in the 500 block of Maryland Avenue for a reported assault. Investigation into this matter revealed that Garrett Ketterman, age 24 of Cumberland engaged in a verbal argument with the victim. The argument escalated which led to Ketterman allegedly throwing the victim to the ground and began choking her. The victim was able to break free and Ketterman left the residence. The victim locked the door but a few minutes later, Ketterman came back and kicked the door to the residence numerous times but was unable to make entry. Ketterman was located and placed under arrest. He was transported to the Cumberland City Police Department where he was processed and served. After a bond hearing, Ketterman was held on a $2,500.00 dollar bond at the Allegany County Detention Center. The victim did not require medical attention.
