Police Stop Would Be Jumper

On 06/28/15 at 2:18pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to Roses Plaza located on Queen City Dr in reference to a hit and run complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who stated that his vehicle was struck between 1145 and 1200pm. Officers observed damage to the driver side front fender of the vehicle. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.

 

 

 

June 28th, 2015                                                             Suicide Attempt

 

On 06/28/15 at 0100hrs Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the Frederick St Parking Garage in reference to a female subject threatening to jump off the top floor. Upon arrival officers observed a female with one leg hanging over the ledge. Officers began making contact with the female while another Officer ran to her location. While the female was listening to the Officer on the ground, the second officer was able to approach the female and pull her off the ledge without injury or incident. The female was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for an emergency evaluation. North Mechanic St was closed for a brief period of time while the incident was taking place. The Cumberland Fire Dept was alerted and stood by during the incident.

 

June 28th, 2015                                                                     Theft

 

On 06/28/15 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence located in the 600blk of Fayette St in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who stated that they left their residence on 06/25/15 and forgot to place an item in the vehicle. The victim then left the area with the item lying in the driveway. Upon realizing that they left the item behind they returned home to find the item missing. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.
