June 4th, 2015 Theft
On 06/04/15 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 100blk of Independence St in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that sometime overnight person(s) unknown removed two ceramic pigs from the front yard of the residence. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.
June 4th, 2015 Shoplifting
On 06/04/15 at 4:23pm Officer’s with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a business located in the 700blk of Park St in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted store employees who advised that they observed a female subject place several item’s of value into her purse and attempt to leave the store without paying for them. Officers then identified the female as 39 year old April Martz of Cumberland. Martz was issued a criminal citation for Theft under $100 and released from the scene pending trial in District Court
