Police Log – 06/10/14

June 10th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

On June 6, 2014 at 9:27 PM the Cumberland Police were conducting a traffic stop on Elm Street when one of the assisting officers was approached by a female who was not involved in the traffic stop.  The female, identified as Amanda Yvonne Tallman, asked the officer to see if she had a warrant for her arrest.  Investigation revealed Tallman did have an active arrest warrant through the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department.  As the officer began placing Tallman under arrest for the warrant, she began pulling away and resisted arrest.  The officers gained control of Tallman and began walking her to a transport vehicle when Tallman spit in one of the officer’s face.  She was transported to the police department where she continued to be uncooperative.  As she was being placed in the cell she assaulted the same officer again by punching him in the shoulder.  The officer did not require medical treatment.  Tallman was taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

On June 9, 2014 Tallman was arrested on the warrant stemming from the incident on June 6.  The warrant charged her with Resisting/Interfere with Arrest and two counts of 2nd Degree Assault.  She was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was held on $3000 bond.
