Shoplifting
On 06/24/14 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a business located in the 700blk of Park St in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted store employees who stated that they observed a White male place several items into a shopping cart and leave the store without paying for the items. Video of the incident was captured by store cameras which led to the identification of the suspect as 44 year old Arthur Brennan of Cumberland. Brennan was issued a criminal citation for Theft under $100 and released pending trial in District Court.

On 06/24/14 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 1300blk of Virginia Ave in reference to a Destruction of Property complaint. Upon arrival Officers made contact with construction workers who had just poured a sidewalk in the area. According to the foreman, a white male subject had exited a residence and proceeded to spray paint and engrave the concrete causing damage. The suspect was identified as 25 year old Andrew Roman of Cumberland. Roman was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was processed and issued two MD criminal citations charging him with Destruction of Property and Disorderly Conduct. Roman was released pending trial in District Court.
Shoplifting
On 06/24/14 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a business located on Queen City Drive in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival contact was made with store employees who stated that they observed a white female place several items into her purse and attempt to leave the store without paying for them. The female was identified as 27 year old Angela Phillips of Cumberland. Phillips was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where she was processed and issued a Criminal Citation for Theft under $100 and released pending trial in District Court.
