Theft, hit and run among police calls

On 08/16/16 officers with the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 300blk of Columbia St in reference to a destruction of property. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that sometime overnight person(s) unknown had punctured several tires on their vehicle. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.

 

Disturbance

 

On 08/16/16 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence located in the 1500blk of E Oldtown Rd in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival officers contacted several subjects who advised that 27 year old Curtis Hamilton was asked to leave the residence and refused. Officers arrived on the scene and Hamilton was told to leave the area and not return. He did so at this time without incident. A short time later Officers were again dispatched to this location where they located Hamilton knocking on the door. At this time Hamilton was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters where he was issued a Criminal Citation for failure to obey a lawful order and released pending trial in District Court.

 

Theft

 

On 08/16/16 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the parking lot at 1050 Industrial Blvd for a report of a theft. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim who advised that sometime between noon and 4pm person(s) unknown entered their vehicle and removed a laptop computer. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.

 

Hit and Run

 

On 08/16/16 at 12:06pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the area of N Centre St at Hanover in reference to a hit and run complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who advised that an unknown vehicle struck their vehicle, a white in color Chevy Cobalt, which was parked and unoccupied. The vehicle sustained damage to the entire passenger side. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.
